As someone who consistently runs hot, it can be hard to find luxurious clothing items that actually provide consistent comfort. This robe is one of them.
The linen-cotton weave is gorgeously lightweight and soft, and incredibly breathable. It's a wonderful single layer when I'm a little chilled, and stays comfortable and cool when things warm up.
Regardless, it breathes and doesn't absorb sweat, so it doesn't get funky the way I've had cheaper synthetic robes do in the past. And while the out-of-the-box texture is a little coarse (in the nice kind of way good terrycloth robes are), it softens amazingly after the first wash.
As other reviewers mentioned, it can be hard to tell from Oddbird's pictures what the actual colors are, but, as described in the details section, the primary stripes are dark grey, while the secondary stripes are that, plus vivid almost-sky-blue edging, all on top of an oatmeal natural base.
I think I would like it if Oddbird showed at least some color-calibrated photos that were just a close-up swatch of fabric under natural daylight-balanced light (in my opinion there's only one product photo here that accurately captures the color combination on this fabric), but the lack of that doesn't stop me from loving the pattern of this robe and thinking I made the right choice.
Sizing: I'm 5'11" and 200lb, with a moderate bust, and the M/L fits very well for me, even after a bit of shrinkage from the first wash and being hung to air dry.
