My fail-safe cocktail, year-round, will always be an espresso martini.

Something about the balance of sweetness from the liqueur, bitterness from the coffee and the strength of the vodka feels both light and rich at the same time.

My own personal recipe, this take on the Espresso Martini feels uniquely fresh with the full-bodied flavor profile of Turkish coffee taking the place of the sour-leaning espresso to create something that gives ’summer abroad’ with every sip.

The inclusion of cardamom is my favorite part of this cocktail which grounds the drink in an earthy and uniquely Mediterranean palette, elevating the classic Martini with that unbeatable Turkish twist.

But be warned, she goes down easy but is quite the stiff drink 🍸

Method

  1. Brew one 4oz sugar-free Turkish coffee on the stove and set aside to cool for 10 minutes
  2. in a cocktail shaker add:
    ice
    1.5 oz (shot) of vodka
1.5 oz (shot) of coffee liquor (we love vita vera!)
    a pinch of ground cardamom
  3. Using a cheese cloth, strain your 4oz of cooled turkish coffee into the shaker
  4. shake vigorously (very important to create the froth!)
  5. using your shaker strainer lid pour your martini into glass and garnish with 3 coffee beans for good luck.

Enjoy!
